As one of its strategies to achieve capacity building and cooperation among the African NSBs, and in desiring to promote mutual interest and cooperation between ARSO and the member States in delivering affordable and effective standardisation Training to help standards and conformity assessment professionals effectively navigate the myriad processes and procedures of national, regional, continental and international standards development programs, ARSO has signed MoUs with various members including Kenya, South Africa, Tunisia, Egypt.
The purpose of this MOU is to provide a framework through which the Parties may collaborate and cooperate in undertaking the Joint ARSO-NSBs Standardisation Training. .
The overall objective of this partnership is to leverage ARSO and SAZ resources to provide affordable ARSO-NSBs joint in-depth standardisation training to participants from African NSBs in key aspects of standardization and Conformity Assessment. The training is aimed at increasing the capacity of African countries to develop and harmonize standards and conformity assessment and utilize them for value addition in goods and services in support of African Union Decisions especially the need to establishing the CFTA by 2017 and boosting intra-African trade from the current 10% to 25% in the next 10% years
