Country of assignment and location: Nairobi, Kenya

Qualifications

  1. You must be a citizen of an ARSO Member State.
  2. You have a Master’s degree in: earth sciences, chemistry, economics, environmental or agricultural sciences, or in a similar area, and have gained at least ten years of experience as an officer, and/or advisor or manager.
  3. You have at least five years’ experience in product/system/process certification services.
  4. You have comprehensive expert knowledge on voluntary sustainability standards and you are soundly acquainted with environmental and climate protection.
  5. You have finely tuned communication skills, are an excellent networker, excel under pressure, and act sensitively in an intercultural environment.
  6. Proficiency in English is a must and fluency in French is an asset.

Country of assignment and location: Nairobi, Kenya

Qualifications

(1) You must be a citizen of an ARSO Member State.

(2) You must be bilingual: Fluency in English and French.

(3) The Marketing Manager will be expected to deploy our marketing resources and own relationships with a number of stakeholders, sponsors and constituencies critical to our success. The successful candidate will hold a strong undergraduate degree in marketing, be socially conscious and demonstrate:

(i) Experience marketing B2B services.

(ii) Experience with mission-driven organizations.

(iii) Social media skills.

(iv) Flexibility, enterprise, autonomy, commitment and ability to foster collaboration.

(v) Success in building brand and developing business in fast-moving and high-reputational-risk environments.

(vi) Superior ethics, project execution and customer service skills.

(vii) Extraordinary attention to detail and excellent communication, writing and facilitation skills.

(viii) Budget management experience.

(ix) All the usual expectations regarding IT skills and facility with our software.

(4) Candidates with the following will be given preference in the selection process:

(i) An advanced marketing degree.

(ii) Domain knowledge of social, environmental and sustainability issues.

(iii) Familiarity with certification schemes, certificate trading schemes and ecolabels.

(iv) A stellar reputation within a well-developed network.

(v) Superior creativity, strong knowledge of design and ability to effectively communicate with a diverse array of stakeholders.
