The ARSO Goodwill Ambassador

The ARSO Goodwill Ambassador Her Excellency Prof. Mrs. Ameenah Gurib-Fukim, the President of the Republic of Mauritius, in her video message (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0F3L00xgQw) to the General Assembly, highlighted how the ACP Countries are bound to gain from the just concluded 2017 European Development Days 2017 (EDD 2017) in Brussels, Belgium where ARSO participated and in which the ARSO Goodwill Ambassador Her Excellency Prof. Mrs. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim and the Secretary General were Key panellists in an event organised by EU-ACP TradeCom II on June 7-8, 2017 under the themes “Standardisation for Boosting African Trade: Developing African Traditional Medicines in the Global Value Chain; “Promoting inclusive trade in Africa – Boosting cross border trade through simplified trade regimes: Supporting local businesses to address the informal economy in Africa”. The EDD underpins Africa’s and the entire ACP region’s burgeoning reputation as a prime investment destination and the need to tap into a huge and growing market in the context of the scheduled negotiations with ACP partners in 2017-2018, and the TradeCom II Programme initiative, through building productive capacity, managing trade policy and negotiations and the greater need for strengthening Quality infrastructure in the region.
