Hosted by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards, the Secretary General, Dr. Hermogene Nsengimana, met the acting Director General of Tanzania Bureau of Standards, Mr. Lazaro Msasalaga (representing the TBS Director General, Dr. Ashura A. Katunzi) to discuss the hosting logistics for the 31^st ARSO General Assembly events which will be held on 23^rd – 27^th June 2025, at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Zanzibar, and hosted by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, through the Tanzania Bureau of Standards and in association with the Zanzibar Bureau of Standards.

The 31^st ARSO General Assembly Events / 2025 ARSO Week will be held under theme “Accelerating Fair and Just Trade in Africa under the African Continental Free Trade Area through an African Coherent Regulatory Framework and Harmonised standards”, which is based on the African Union 2025 theme, “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations”. The theme presents opportunity to reflect on the need to enhance the Capacity and competitiveness of African Producers, Traders and the SMEs to participate in the regional and global value chains and access markets regionally and internationally by meeting quality requirements through an effective quality infrastructure.

The events will be graced by the President of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, together with other Tanzania Government officials and delegates from ARSO Member States and Stakeholders.
