The African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) and the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Felix K. Koskei, EGH, FKISM, MCIPS, MKIS, Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service of the Republic of Kenya, as an ARSO Goodwill Ambassador.
This prestigious title was officially conferred and approved during the 74th ARSO Council meeting held on 25th August 2026 and Officially Conferred during the 32nd ARSO General Assembly Gala Dinner.
Mr. Koskei’s appointment comes at a crucial moment as Africa accelerates economic integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). His extensive career in public leadership, supply chain management, governance, and public sector reforms makes him an invaluable champion for standardization across the continent.
Role and Vision
As an ARSO Goodwill Ambassador, Mr. Koskei will advocate for the strategic adoption of African Standards (ARS), quality infrastructure, and trade facilitation. His engagement will focus on key strategic pillars:
- High-Level Policy Advocacy – Strengthening political will and inter-governmental collaboration to harmonize standards across African Union Member States.
- AfCFTA Trade Enablement – Championing the elimination of Technical Barriers to Trade (TBTs) to foster seamless intra-African commerce.
- Public-Private Sector Synergies – Encouraging industries and public institutions to embed standard compliance as a driver for economic growth and consumer safety.
- Support for ARSO @ 50 – Leading advocacy and visibility initiatives heading into the historic 33rd ARSO General Assembly and Golden Jubilee celebrations in Accra, Ghana (19th to 23rd July 2027).
